I’ve been living in the CBD area in Singapore for the last two months and I’ve come across quite a few drool worthy cars. And this being a country where cars are taxed into oblivion, I’m even more impressed when I see these around...
A burgundy AMG CLS. One of the few stanced cats that I actually liked. Those wheels are a bit much, but still...

This is one of the prettiest colors on the Ghost.
Finally, I bring you to a day of unicorns. First, I saw Jeep Grand Cherokee. I didn’t know they sold Jeeps here. I’ve only seen 1 more of these after I spotted this one.
And then a bit further down the street, I see a California.
And then, there’s newer one in red just a few more cats down!
To top that off, I see an Alpina X5 BiTurbo!

the reason expensive cars are so prevalent here is that the taxes are regressive i.e. well off people feel the brunt of them less. It’s a great place to go spotting though, our condo itself has several exotics.

Yeah the taxes are ridiculous, but not for the super rich...
I take it that you live in Singapore too? Is there an enthusiast community here that you know of?

Yup! There’re a bunch of car clubs around that I know of for off-roading/exotics etc but to my knowledge there isn’t a general enthusiast community per se- cost is prohibitive. You could explore this group though https://www.facebook.com/groups/OFFICIA…
Alternatively have a look at mycarforum.com ; I’ll warn you that most of these communities are local/Chinese dominated so based on your background and ethnicity YMMV.

Oh cool :) I don’t need for it to even be an official club. As long as I can meet like minded car enthusiasts, I’m in.
I have seen that people tend to keep to their own and remain racially segregated. And I hate to say this, but I’ve also seen casual racism in so many places. If there are certain groups I need to steer clear of, do let me know. I don’t want to deal with that...

Yup, it’s bad here. I’m Indian too, and I’ve stopped believing the racial harmony crap they keep peddling because it simply isn’t true. As far as the above communities go it /might/ be an issue but generally the higher the social strata the less racism you’ll experience since it starts to be dominated by South Asians/Caucasians.

Yup. I went through a crap ton of that in bars/clubs when I talked to people and when I was looking for apartments (I just moved here).
And gotcha. Will try to find rich people lol

It’s just the way it is, unfortunately. I’ve had the benefit (?) of growing up here so finding friends hasn’t ever been an issue though I’m going to gtfo for college and not return. All the best on your quest though :)
And yup, definitely! Hmu whenever you're good. Not often I find a local opponaut around.
